Amazing Coaches & Leaders (spring sports)
Anthony was born in Texas and raised in Moses Lake. He graduated from Moses Lake High School in 1994. He’s played Little League and Babe Ruth baseball and coached Little League and Instructional Coach-Pitch baseball in the Moses Lake area. He played on men’s and co-ed slow-pitch softball teams for over 25 years and won multiple tournaments and one State Title. He recently attended the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Clinic in Portland. Anthony moved to Reardan, with his wife, Tessa, in 2004 and currently farms and raises cattle with Tessa and his 2 daughters, Lydia & Olivia. He enjoys hunting and supporting his daughters’ extra-curricular activities, whether it be showing, judging or public speaking in 4-H and FFA or playing sports on the field or court.
Coach Robert Green, or Coach Bobbie, is a military law enforcement veteran and a graduate of Poplar Springs High School in Graceville, FL.
With over 7 years of playing and coaching experience in football, Coach Green has worked at the youth level all the way up to high school. He is dedicated to passing down his knowledge and passion for the game, viewing the responsibility of helping players grow on and off the field as one he takes to heart.
Coach Green served as the Middle School (MS) Head Coach last year and is excited to be returning this year as the HS Head Baseball Coach and HS Football Assistant Coach.
He looks forward to getting back on the field and interacting with the players and community. Robert has been married for 10 years and has two children.
Brian is from the Middle Georgia area near Warner Robins. He grew up in a military family and grew up in different locations around the country. He attended Georgia Military College and Georgia College and State University before joining the United States Air Force in 2009. He has been stationed in Little Rock Arkansas, and Okinawa, Japan prior to coming to Fairchild AFB here in Washington. Brian has played baseball and football, coached High School and Club Baseball in Okinawa, played tournament and base level varsity Softball, and coached recreation baseball and football for all ages. Brian has coached for Reardan at both the MS and HS level and we are excited to have him back as the HS Football Assistant Flex coach this season.
Hello, my name is David J. Wynecoop. Graduate class of Reardan in the year of 2000. I have been married to my high school sweet heart Gina since 2003. Our oldest is a graduate of Reardan, and our younger two are Reardan student athletes. I was a three-sport athlete and competed at state in Basketball and Track. I ran track at SFCC competing in the 400. I have been coaching since 2009 in flag football, basketball and track. I enjoy working with my hands, hunting, spending time with family on the river and on the powwow trail.
Faith Matusik is an experienced coach who will be serving as our HS Wrestling Assistant Coach alongside Coach Mauzay, and as our HS/MS Cross Country Assistant Flex Coach with Coach Smedley. Additionally, she is our MS Head Track Coach.
Faith competed in middle school and high school for Cheney as a sprinter, pole vaulter, and heptathlete. She has been actively involved in helping her 4 kids who all attend Reardan. She is highly organized and structured, possessing a deep understanding of what it takes to be an athlete in these events and the importance of conditioning and form.
Jason Anderson has been coaching high school football since 2015. After spending four years coaching at the freshman level at Rogers high (Spokane) Jason got involved with Reardan football. He was a JV/varsity volunteer coach for two seasons prior to being hired as an assistant coach for the middle school program. In that time, he was also hired as the head
coach for Reardan Track and Field. He looks forward to making an impact on both Reardan Football, as well as the community for years to come.
Nathaniel was raised in Nampa, Idaho, and graduated from Bishop Kelly High School in 2021.
He moved to Cheney in the fall of 2021 to attend Eastern Washington University and graduated in 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. During his time at Eastern, Nathaniel was a member/president of the Powerlifting club and competed multiple times as a representative of the school. Nathaniel plans to continue in a doctoral program in order to
pursue a career in Physical Therapy. He also enjoys several hobbies in his spare time, including fabrication, small engines, and off-roading. Nathaniel brings experience from seven years of cross-country competition, six years of track competition, and an in-depth familiarity with the current ACSM Standards. Welcome to the Reardan Track Family, Nathaniel!
Please welcome our high school softball assistant coach, Olivia Byers! Olivia is teaching 4th grade here at Reardan. She started playing softball when she was six years old. Coach Byers has been with our softball program previously and is looking forward to continuing to share what she knows about the sport, and helping the student-athletes become better people both on and off the field.
Tyler Smedley is currently coaching our cross country and knowledge bowl teams and is now adding tennis! Tennis was the Smedley family sport growing up. Some of Tyler’s strongest memories of childhood are doing tennis drills at the courts in Odessa, as they spent almost every weekend playing. Coach Smedley was the manager of the high school tennis team in Odessa in his middle school years and participated in tournaments at the middle and high school levels growing up. Unfortunately, Tyler’s high school (in Tenino, WA) didn’t have a boys’ tennis team, so he participated in track instead. Tyler’s mom and sisters played tennis at the collegiate level. One sister coached tennis for Ellensburg High School for many years and his brother is the current tennis coach for Harrington. Tennis runs in their blood! Tennis is a lifelong sport which teaches grit, determination and the ability to persevere, it is so awesome! Coach Smedley invites all skill levels to turn out, from those who have never held a racket to those who are a little more seasoned.
